Ask at the Youth or Adult Information Desk for assistance.Note: You must log completed reading progress online to be included in the weekly drawings or to earn badges.

Youth - Toddler -5th Grade
This program is designed to help kids (toddler-5th grade) read for fun and growth this summer. Participation is free and open to all, and it’s simple to play. Set a daily reading goal for each child (for example, the Portage Public Schools recommend that elementary children read for at least 20 minutes each day).Log each day that your child reads on our Summer Reading site or app (see instructions above). Each week readers record 5 days of reading, they may come to the Youth Information Desk to select a free sticker or enter our weekly prize drawing. At 15 days of reading and again at 30 days of reading, each reader will receive a free book! Kids who log at least 45 days of reading can enter for a chance to win a Grand Prize pack!
Teens - 6th-12th Grade
During each week that readers in 6th-12th grade record at least 5 days of reading , they will be automatically entered to win a gift card to an area business! At 15 days of reading and again at 30 days of reading, teen readers will receive a free book! Teens who log at least 45 days of reading can enter for a chance to win a Grand Prize Pack! Open to everyone in 6th-12th grade (including incoming 6th graders and graduating seniors).Family Summer Quest
You will have so many adventures this summer! You can earn up to 25 buttons by sharing these adventures with us. Pick up a Quest Journal and a list of activities at the Youth Desk and write or draw pictures of your experiences this summer. Each journal entry that you show a librarian will earn you a button (up to 25). Visit the Quest Central table for more activity suggestions and to decorate your journal entries.Adults - 18 and Older
Have some fun and get some stuff by participating in the Adult Summer Reading Program. All adults (18 and older) are welcome to join. Every week a drawing will be held to award a gift card from local businesses. All you have to do is earn a badge. You can earn one badge a week just by reading a book (and enter the title in your account at Beanstack) or by doing online activities throughout the summer. You will receive one virtual ticket for every badge you earn that you can spend in either a weekly drawing or the final drawing. Every week there will be chances to win smaller gift cards, and in the end, ten larger gifts will be available to win. Any winner will be able to use the gift card or “pay it forward” by giving it to a local community member who you select to receive it.
