Share your story, inspire understanding
The Portage District Library is hosting a Human Library® event in Winter 2025, and we’re looking for volunteers to act as “Human Books.”
The Human Library® is a safe space for open, one-on-one conversations where people can challenge stereotypes and foster understanding through dialogue. As a “Human Book,” you’ll share your personal story to help others see beyond assumptions and connect in meaningful ways.
Could you be a “Human Book”?
“Human Books” are individuals who are willing to share their experiences to inspire empathy and understanding. Whether your story is about overcoming challenges, embracing your identity, or offering a unique perspective, your voice could make a difference. It’s just a few hours of your time and an unforgettable experience for you and your “readers.” Training will be provided.
